History of the temple

This Long Son Nha Trang pagoda was originally named Dang Long Tu (Dang Long Pagoda). After a major storm in 1900, the temple was seriously damaged and had to be relocated to its current location. 

Long Son Pagoda was renamed and became the headquarters of the Buddhist Association of Khanh Hoa Province since 1936. It was restored and expanded again in 1940 before being destroyed in 1968 during the Vietnam War. Up to now, Long Son Pagoda has been recognized as the oldest pagoda in Vietnam after experiencing hundreds of years of ups and downs with many repairs and restorations.
